Make your neighbourhood jealous with these Spring tips for curb appeal!

As we finally approach the end of another gruelling winter, days are getting longer and Spring time projects are coming to the forefront. We always talk and hear about Spring cleaning inside our homes, however what about the outside? How can we make it so appealing that we'll smile every time we come home? Here are a few tips that will make your entire neighbourhood jealous:

1 - Colour green, we missed you!

There is nothing better than greenery after a long winter season. Take control by staying on top of your landscaping schedule. Clean up debris including leaves & branches, thatch or aerate your lawn to help it grow properly and make a fertilizing schedule. You will also want to mow regularly in the Spring as this is the season when it will grow the fastest! Other projects include planting flowers and shrubs and strategic locations for proper lighting and visual effect. Keep it manageable based on how much time you're willing to invest on maintenance.

2 - Make your door(s) stand out

You and your guests will walk through the front door on a daily basis and if you have a garage, that door will get a ton of use and visibility as well. Sometimes, it's as simple as pressure washing your doors to give them a fresh look or if it's time for a bit more, consider painting or staining your doors to get a new door look.

3 - Wash it off

After a long season of wind and snow, your home deserves a shower. Simply using a pressure washer to clean the dirt and grime off your home is a very satisfying feeling! Don't forget about your garage slab, driveway, decks, walkways and gutters for maximum impact. If you do not own a pressure washer, you are able to rent one from box stores such as Home Depot.

4 - Easy upgrades

Are you looking for quick and inexpensive ways to make the outside of your home pop? Consider updating your lighting, mailbox or house numbers as enhancements that will give a whole new look to your home's exterior appeal.

5 - Small repairs

A home that is virtually flawless from outside except for a few defects will draw attention to the defects. Have a walk around the home this Spring and make a list of any small repairs that are needed including fastening siding, sealing and painting, ripped screens or burnt out bulbs. Get your tools ready and take on the project with a cold beverage in hand!

Not only will your home be the subject of much envy, it will also boost your home's value and give you the sense of pride every time you come and go. With all the magnificent features that are already evident in your property, I hope these tips helps you add another dimension to the place you call home!
