Hockey - Canada’s sport! We live and breathe it. We have friendly, sometimes heated rivalries with friends and family while we cheer on our favourite team. We chase arenas for our kids’ practices, games and tournaments as well as off-ice training, spring, summer and fall camps. However hockey is about much more than the sport, it teaches many valuable life lessons about teamwork and working within systems, sacrifice, attention to detail, overcoming adversity, being a favourite as well as an underdog, how to win and lose gracefully and so much more. It also develops friendships and relationships that are lifelong and that provide a support system for life. Not only has hockey brought me a great deal of tools to navigate life’s challenges, as I reflect on the people who are most important to me and that have supported me in business, the common denominator is hockey.
That is why it is truly a privilege to partner up with Zack MacEwen and the My Biggest Fan Foundation to help provide this framework for as many kids as possible. It is no secret that hockey is an expensive sport and that it isn’t accessible to every child. Growing up, I personally witnessed my parents spend a lot of their discretionary income on equipment, registrations, tournaments, camps and everything else that would allow me to keep up with my friends and perform at the highest level. I also watched as some of my friends had to stop playing, missed out on opportunities or never even had the chance to play for financial reasons.
For every listing commission that is earned, I will personally contribute $100 to the My Biggest Fan Foundation and will gladly facilitate any contribution that you wish to make as well with absolutely no obligation. Together we will be able to help kids build strong skills for a brighter future.
